For this cover, we wove deep personal meaning into complex biology. The abstract background was inspired by a lake near her hometown - her special place that holds a lot of personal meaning. Within this landscape, the water drops represent lipoprotein particles, and the sun represents T cells. When they interact, the sun turns red, symbolizing T cell activation. It is a deeply personal, abstract representation of the growing landscape of immune modulation.

For this cover, we translated the physics of ultrasound into a deeply personal visual narrative. The goal was to reference sound waves: particles in the air expanding and compressing. To capture this, we wove a hidden message into the design using a Morse code-like pattern that mimics these moving particles. The code spells the word ‘expand’ - a nod to both the title of the thesis and the profound personal growth she experienced during her PhD journey. During her defense, when the committee asked about the cover, the multi-layered meaning left them completely speechless.
