TURKEY TAIL 2.0

Inspired by the magic of mushrooms…

Painted on recycled high-pressure laminate. In collaboration with DB55

From trash to texture

While working at DB55, I was offered a collection of "off-season" Formica HPL (High Pressure Laminate) samples. These industrial offcuts were destined for the trash, but I saw them as a perfect canvas. Instead of letting them go to waste, I upcycled these samples into the foundation for a new series of recycled art.

The Inspiration: The World’s Most Studied Mushroom

I chose to translate the patterns of the Turkey Tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor) onto these industrial panels. Beyond its beautiful concentric rings, the Turkey Tail is a scientific powerhouse; it is currently the most studied mushroom in the world due to its incredible medicinal properties and biological resilience.
